While you are volunteering with Macmillan you may have to handle cash, cheques or other donations. This short guide explains some of our rules around cash handling and our expectations if a member of the public gives you money to pass on to Macmillan.

In addition to the resources available online, our geographical L&D teams also provide free face to face courses and events on a more local level.
Whilst we are more than happy for you to attend courses that are outside your geographical area, as a charity, we wouldn't be able to contribute towards any travel or expenses associated with attending our free courses.

The 3hrs virtual workshop, run by 2 facilitators, teaches you how to use a structured approach to getting into and out of a conversation with someone who is upset or has concerns, whilst providing basic psychological support. The workshop uses a mix of small group work, lectures and rehearsals.
This Emotional Health and Wellbeing (EH&WB) taster session will introduce you to our Macmillan Wellbeing Framework© which provides a host of resources and learning opportunities that holistically consider your overall emotional health and wellbeing. The session will broadly cover some of the content within the framework, such as building resilience skills, and then sign-post you to where and how you might extend your learning across all of the content areas within the framework.
